Family Funbook ReviewThe ideas in this book are easy to do, not very expensive and for the most part, don't require anything exotic. There are suggestions for trips to take, things to do on trips, holidays, and more. There are ideas for making every day special, seasons, games for the whole family and more.
If you can remember to look over this book at times, you will find a wealth of ideas for just about anytime (hospital stays, new baby, hot days, rainy days etc.) Our family will probably not even come close to doing half of the things in this book. However, everything we have done has been fun.
We made the sugar eggs for some of the kids in the playgroup and they were a big hit.
This book is sure to help you enjoy the time you have with your children. IT has helped our family to explore new things and try new ideas.

FamilyFun Cooking with Kids ReviewI was happy to see this was money well spent. This isn't little snack foods for kids to make for kids,(ie. "ants on a log"). There is a great variety of snacks, meals, dessert, ect. in this cook book that can feed the family. If you have read Family Fun magazine then you know the format for their recipes. The book is a great resource for parents who don't think they can make one more peanut butter sandwich. There are great ideas that would please any taste buds, and there are definitely picky ones at my house! There are time saving tips included, as well as a list of items to have on hand to make packing those lunches a little easier. Two of my childrens favorite items are: Flour tortillas with melted cheddar cheese in between, cooled and cut into triangle wedges; and a "sandwich" with cheese and ham rolled and cut into pinwheels! Gifts of Good Taste:The Creative Kitchen (Leisure Arts #5408) ReviewThis is a nice little book that has some good ideas for gifts to give and how to wrap or present them. Included are; beverages, breads, candies, cookies, holiday and seasonal, pies and cakes, sauces, mixes and jams, snacks.
There are instructions for the patterns, embroidery and making a coiled rag coaster and a ribbon rose (which is not the best I have seen done). Patterns are the same size as you will use, so there is no reason to worry about enlarging, but there are instructions for changing the size too. Pictures are given with the instructions.
Cooking tips are included and an index.
The recipes are not that hard to make, but not all that run of the mill either, neither are the wrappings and ideas on how to give them. We have really liked (as well as the people who received them) the turtle brownies, the butterscotch coffee cake and the 2 types of sweet and savory nuts.
