Cooking Wizardry For Kids ReviewThis book is great! A fellow teacher of mine showed me this book that she uses every week for planning her lessons. The book explains how to make delicious food items and cool experiments. I have seen the children in great delight making their own frozen yogurt or taste testing honey that is made from different flowers. Rufus M. ReviewI was given this book to read when I was 7 years old. I was ill at home and my mother dropped it on the bed as I had been pestering her for something to read. It looked unpromising. I liked books about war and dinosaurs and soccer. None of these seemed likely to feature in Rufus M.
Though I would not have used the word then, I was enchanted. Estes sketched out a world I wanted to leap straight into.
This is such good a book that it has stuck in my memory as a happy thought about a distant time. I found myself thinking about it as I sat at my desk this evening and googled my way here. I'm 37 tomorrow. 30 years on and it's still with me.

Wiggles, Giggles, & Popcorn (Family Time Activities Books) ReviewAt first I got intimidated when Lesson 1's instructions called for a "large refrigerator" cardboard box to be decorated as Noah's Ark by parent in advance. "Yikes! Am I going to need to stay up late doing this kind of homework every time?". It turns out most lessons have modest prep/material needs, and everything can be adjusted & improvised as needed. The magic to the method isn't in the props, it's in POPS and how enthusiastically I present the subject. The Family Times have all been fantastic, and our 3-year-old son is really loving them, as have his Mommy & I. The companion book, `Bubbles, Balloons, & Chocolate' is actually slightly better in my opinion, but you're going to want both books soon enough! Here's a link to `Bubbles':
