Hip 2 B Square Throws 4 Home (Leisure Arts #5281) ReviewThe best part of this leaflet is the fact that all of the 15 squares are the same size, 8 inch, and thus interchangeable. The crocheter can use the motifs to make several different afghans or use them all to make the cover afghan. Total of 5 afghans shown. Yarn used is worsted #4. The patterns are graded according to level of difficulty. There are two other leaflets available with similar size squares: baby wraps and totes and bags by the same author and publisher. the leaflet is well done with large size print and large color illustrations. The Complete Photo Guide to Crochet: *All You Need to Know to Crochet *The Essential Reference for Novice and Expert Crocheters *Comprehensive Guide ... Charts, and Photos for 200 Stitch Patterns ReviewI just received this book yesterday. It is amazing. Beautiful, clear photographs. Easy to understand explanations. Lots of inspiration. I am currently working my first motif project. I already used the tip on a better way to fasten off motifs. This is also my first major project with seams. The book shows a number of techniques with clear pictures and instructions. Some other helpful techniques include button holes and zippers.
I consider myself an intermediate crocheter. This book provides new inspiration to challenge myself to explore more intricate projects and different types of crochet. The book is a comprehensive guide to so many types of crochet, including various lace techniques and freeform crochet.
Depending on the person, this many not be the book for an absolute new beginner. While there are instructions for the basics, the rest may be overwhelming. I suggest you first try your hand at a little crocher, then jump into this book for inspiration.
Note: While the book has instructions for a number of completed projects as examples, its main focus is techniques. It's up to you to apply the techniques to your designs. This is not something I've done in the past, but it's where I want to challenge myself to go.
For the price, this book is an absolutely incredible value.
